this rug is just what we needed as we have a puppy and wanted a rug we can wash incase of accidents. However it's very thin - for us this is good as we would be able to wash it when needed (haven't do so yet) but it's no more thicker than a puppy training pad, just looks a a lot better with it's fluffy top. I'm happy at the price but can see why people could be disappointed. It looks ok and I've not had a problem hoovering. So for us, in spite of it being very thin it's a good rug
